Read-and-respond exercise

Due: Due Wednesday, February 11, at the start of class

Please read the article "Vision: A Computational Investigation..." by David Marr (in the anthology) with emphasis on the material on representation and on the three levels of explanation.

Write a short description of the paper, including your analysis of the following questions:

What are Marr's three levels of explanation?
How would you apply this analysis to a simple information processing device?

There are lots of other questions that could be asked (some of which may appear on our exams), but this will get us started in discussion Wednesday.
