Final Exam Review

Disclaimer: I have attempted to be comprehensive in the following, but important items may have been omitted by mistake. If you see such an omission, please let me know, but you are responsible for all of the lecture material to date.

The final exam for Math 180 F is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 14, from 12:00 Noon to  2:00 PM.  It will be a mandatory, two-hour, in class, comprehensive exam. University regulations require that all students take the final exam at this date and time.

Our final exam will cover the material in our textbook through section 5.6 except for material omitted from earlier exam reviews and the material on the area between curves in section 5.6/

In your review, you should cover

• Readings in the textbook (through 5.6, with exceptions as noted in earlier exam reviews)
• Your lecture notes
• Earlier exams and exam review documents
• Homework

Since our last hour exam, we have covered sections of chapter 5 (on integration).  In the material on integration, be able to

• Be able to state and use the mean value theorem for definite integrals.  Be able to calculate the average of a function.
• Be able to state and use the fundamental theorems of calculus.  Expect several problems asking you to calculate definite and indefinite integrals (including substitutions).
• In your review, you may find looking over the following problems (and working some of them) useful:
• On pages 351 - 352, problems 1 - 39
• On pages 358 - 359, problems 1 - 55
• On pages 366 - 367, problems 1 - 45
