Final Exam Review

Disclaimer: I have attempted to be comprehensive in the following, but important items may have been omitted by mistake. If you see such an omission, please let me know, but you are responsible for all of the lecture material to date.

The final exam for Math 160 K is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 14, from 4:00 PM  - 6:00 PM.  It will be a mandatory, two-hour, in class, comprehensive exam. University regulations require that all students take the final exam at this date and time.

In your review, you should cover

• Readings in the textbook (through 7.1 (Student's t distribution), with exceptions as noted in earlier exam reviews)
• Your lecture notes
• Earlier exams and exam review documents
• Homework

Since our last hour exam, we have covered section 6.4 and section 7.1 (on Student's t distribution.) 

• Be able to define the power of of a test (but not calculate one)
• Be able to describe Type I and Type II errors and their probabilities)
• Be able to describe Student's t-distribution and say when it is appropriate to use it.
• Be able to use Student's t-distribution
• You might find it useful in your review to look at problem 6.112 on page 411 and problems 7.15 through 7.22 on pages 441 and 442.
