- Assignment #5, due Wednesday, April 23. Please work (being sure
to show your work,
- On page 381, problem 1
- On page 409, problem 1 parts a and b
- On pages 433 - 435, problems 2, 3, 8 (two points), and 13 (two points).
You may want to review pages 430 - 432 before starting on problem 13.
- On page 467, problem 1 (two points).
- Assignment #4, due Wednesday, April 9. Please work (being sure to
show your work):
- On page 266, problem 1 (a). Do this problem in three
ways:
- Work the problem as in the textbook - that is,
solve the problem geometrically. You may want
to look at 242 and 243 before you start
- Solve this problem by completing the square algebraically
(as we did in class)
- Solve this problem using the quadratic formula
(which, of course, comes from completing the square
algebraically)
- On page 287, problems 1 - 4
- On pages 328 - 329, problems 1(a) and 3(a)
- On pages 362 - 363, problems 3 and 13
- Assignment #3. This was assigned 2/13/08 to be due 2/20/08, but
not posted until 2/20/08. My apologies for my tardiness in posting
this assignment. Please work:
