Final exam review:

Disclaimer: I have attempted to be comprehensive in the following, but important items may have been omitted by mistake. If you see such an omission, please let me know, but you are responsible for all of the lecture material to date.

The below  should not necessarily be viewed as possible exam questions (although some of them may be), but rather as notes to guide you in your review of the material.  In particular, class discussion on any of these should not be considered as model answers to any question that can be memorized and then produced on the exam.  These notes are guides only.

The Final Exam will be at Noon, Friday, Dec. 17, and will cover

• Textbook:  Chapters 1 - 9  (excluding 5), and section 20.5 (Chapters 26 and 27  have not been assigned, but may serve as useful supplementary review material on our discussions on the Turing and Newell and Simon  papers).
• PowerPoint files (in the handouts folder)
• Material on CLIPS

This will be a comprehensive exam.

Major points:

• Review previous exams and homework
• Review the previous exam review documents (including material not actually covered on exams).
• Look for some additional exam material on Prolog and CLIPS.
• Look for one or two essay - type questions which attempt to tie together several strands in the course.
• Expect some questions on programming in Lisp, including the use of basic control structures, recursion, and property lists.
