Exam 3 Review

Cavaet: Although I do not intentionally leave out material from exam reviews, you will be responsible for all material covered for this exam period, including reading, lectures, and homework. If you do spot an ommission in the following, please do let me know.

The following is intended only as a guide for your study. Although some exam questions may be similar to the items listed below, this review is intended primarily to guide your study and is not intended as a list of possible exam questions.

The third hour exam will be held on Tuesday, April 23, and will cover chapters 1 and 2 of Tanenbaum together with the material in sections 3.2.4 through section 3.3 of  chapter 3 of Tanenbaum, chapters 5 and 6 of Paul. You should certainly review the homework assigned as well. The outlines for lectures in the since our last exam are available in the handouts folder on Plato.

Material in the first two chapters of Tanenbaum (which have been assigned for reading but have not been covered in lecture) will be tested by asking for short definitions or explanations of major terms or ideas in those chapters..

Digital circuits:

Be able to give and explain a diagram for a SR latch (clocked and unclocked) and D flip-flops.  Be able to explain the features of the diagrams on pages 147 and 148 of Tanenbaum.

Assembly language programming:
