Final Exam Review
Disclaimer: I have attempted to be comprehensive in the following,
but important items may have been omitted by mistake. If you see
such an omission, please let me know. You are responsible for all of
the lecture material to date.
The final exam for CSci 161 C (MWF 3:00 PM, Th 3:30 PM)
is scheduled for Wednesday,
December 13, 4:00 - 6:00 PM It will be a
mandatory, two-hour, in class, comprehensive
exam. University regulations require that all students take the
final exam at this date and time.
In your review, please look at the reading we have done this term, review
homework and earlier exams, and review the exam review documents for these
earlier exams. In addition to the material discussed on earlier exams we
have looked at several other topics which may appear on the final exam
- User interfaces
- Be able to write code to specify and show a JFrame.
- Be able to
describe the menu hierarchy, how to create a menu bar, menus, and menu
items.
- Be able to write code which is activated when a menu item is
selected.
- Be able to specify a border (N/S/E/W/Center) layout for the
content of a JFrame.
- Error handling
- Describe how errors can be handled when an object's methods are called by
another object (and not a human user). Be able to explain when
returning an error value is appropriate, and when throwing an exception is.
- Be able to use a try/catch sequence for exceptions.
- Be able to define your own exception.
- Inner classes (be able to define and specify)
