Biblical Sources

Septuagint

An online version of the Septuagint is available from the Titus Project here.

Biblical Codices

There are four great uncial codices, although only two are referenced in this project. The two not currently represented are the Codex Alexandrinus, stored at the British Museum and available in photographic facsimile here, and the Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus, stored at the Bibliotheque nationale de France and available here.

Codex Vaticanus

An online version of the Codex Vaticanus is available here, where there are also options to download the text as a PDF or e-book. This edition was originally published in 1906 and is edited by Alan E. Brooke, Norman McLean, and Henry St. john Thackeray. Published in 8 parts, the last part was not completed until 1935.

Codex Sinaiticus

Brought to the world's attention in 1844 by monks at St. Catherine's Monastery, the Codex Sinaiticus is currently stored in four different libraries around the world. The British Library, the Library of the University of Leipzig, the National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg, and the Holy Monastery of the God-Trodden Mount Sinai (i.e. St. Catherine's Monastery) each retain a piece of the codex and in 2005 agreed to partner together in order to preserve and transcripe the text. All four institutions support the Codex Sinaiticus Project. Through the project, you can read more about the history of the codex and see the manuscript.

Vetus Latina & Vulgate

In 1743, a version of the Bible featuring the text of the Vetus Latina and Jerome's Vulgate side-by-side was published by Pierre Sabatier. After Sabatier's death, the work was continued by Vincent de La Rue. This edition also includes three versions of the Psalms.
